If any body even Reads this Blog :P, maybe you can help me out by posting some suggestions on what would make a 2d space shooter fun? If you do and I implement them ill be happy to credit you!!...but im probably talking to no one so..ya! METAL/DooM rules :)

If you are using the art of Greg Martin for this game, you should really ask him his permission, or at the very least give him credit.

BlackShark;

You did a wonderful job on the
PSP version of AapLander.

Before I go on, I must say:
1) I've always been a huge, huge
Atari fan.
2) I loved the original Lunar
Lander when it hit the arcades.
3) I have been, and always will
be, a huge gamers fan.

Having said that: I thought AapLander was one of the best
games I've seen in a long time,
and please forgive me Atari,
better than the original game.

I was disappointed and shocked that
AapLander was not given proper
recognition in the recent
NeoFlash competition.

This questionable decision of the
NeoFlash judges might limit
exposure to many for what is an
excellent game.

Thanks. I've passed it on to
several people - they've all had
favourable things to say.

But even on version 2, we're having
trouble getting passed EASY level
13. ( And we believe we're fairly
accomplished game players! )

Would you consider a version 3?

I might, what would you suggest i add, and yes, Aap Lander's standard Map set is pretty hard, when making the maps, I had forgotten that I have been playing this game for several months, and have a Lot of experience with it. So I didn't notice how hard I made them before i tested them out with my friends, they were liek, "OMG What the hell!?"

just curious, but have you made any maps with the lunar landscaper (map editor)?

Thanks for your interest!

Again, it's a great game. But we
are focusing here on the things that could be improved, not the things that are already right.

My one and only criticism is that EASY mode is MUCH to hard. The fuel amounts and level layouts are fine; it's the time pressure that's still too much, even on version 2.

I had great difficulty with level
11 ( which I loved, BTW ) and
cannot get passed level 13, even
with using lots of saves and
reloads.

I would think on easy mode
there should be enough time to
complete the level using a single
ship, with time to spare. ( i.e. Don't sacrifice ships
when time runs out and keep the
credits for the keys already
earned. )

If you accept this premise, then
the 192 seconds for 'TheMap' should
probably be doubled.

But simplier levels like the
'Coves' should probably be much
longer as well. Even after
learning where all the keys are,
I would still need an extra 10
seconds myself on a great run to
do the level with one ship.
Considering this is Easy mode,
the timer should be probably
about 40 seconds longer than it
currently is.

Anyways, these are suggestions
only. I think other people may
have found easy mode very difficult
as well, and been deprived of
seeing the higher levels. ( Yes,
I can cheat and play those, but
I'd like to think I earned them. )

If you really are considering a
version 3, and are interested,
I can go back and time the levels
for a moderate player like myself.
It seems that some levels are
very generous with the alloted
time, such as Neutron and ToMetal,
where others are very tight:
Dark Places, Coves, TheMap, and
Muntac.

BTW: the occasional 1UP ships you
have lying around various maps is
a nice touch.

I know you don't what the game to
be too easy, but really, that's
what the other 2 skill levels
are for.

Any thoughts?

I've distributed your game to
several friends, and it's been
very well received.

Per the other question - nope, I
haven't tried the landscaper feature
out yet. But per your comment of
a 'cave man' can do it, it sounds
pretty straight forward. :-)
